TRUST ME, I LIVE WITH CHRONIC PAIN TOO

While in the Army I had my first experience with chronic pain. I began experiencing excruciating back pain and later learned that it was arthritis. After some time I realized that I couldn’t just “push through.” This was different. I quickly became acquainted with flares. A flare is a sudden and intense increase in chronic pain that already exists.

Although I was physically fit I felt like I was falling apart inside despite being an avid runner, former dancer, and living an active life. I blamed myself, I felt depressed, and I just didn’t understand what I did wrong!

Here’s what I learned. You can do all the things and life still happens.

But don’t give up!

I consulted with my doctor and among a laundry list of things to try he recommended mindfulness practices like Pilates, yoga, breath work, and meditation.

That recommendation and a recommitment to my faith helped me tremendously.

Soon after I began educating and sharing movement and meditation practices with those in my community.

When I began practicing low-impact and mindfulness exercises I learned how to stop treating my body like a machine and began to cultivate more mind-body awareness which supported my whole health, mind, body, and spirit.

Let me show you how to live, move, and be whole inside and out!

My motto is: Breathe in, Stress out!

HEAR FROM MY CLIENTS

“Sherrell made me feel safe to continue with yoga with her non-judgmental approach. She was calmly energetic, engaged, and ready to guide us when we met for her session. Her attitude is the same: consistently kind, gently curious, and solicitous of my well-being. I have never maintained an ongoing practice for this length of time prior to working with Sherrell. Thank you, Sherrell! I am grateful.”
